Confused about FitPoints and converting them.

I did weightwatchers quite some time ago and lost about 25lbs steadily over 6 months. I started working out during this process and my weight loss stopped cold. My body composition changed but the weight was pretty much steady. I eventually gave up both confused. Fast forward to this past October, I started WW and Orangetheory and have been doing both pretty religiously (except for two weeks in December for international travel). I go to OTF 4 times a week: Mon, Tues, Thurs, and Fri. At first I dropped almost 15lbs like no problem. But it’s been a slog ever since. Same issue has hit. I’ve been holding steady weight. My clothes do fit much better and my wife definitely notices a difference and says that my spare tire is getting much smaller. I also notice my muscles are firmer and growing a little. Overall, it’s good stuff but I’m curious why my weight doesn’t seem to be dropping like others here. Anyway I tried looking today into how the workouts affect my points and notice that I

How did you do for the month of January?

How much weight did you lose (or gain)? Did you maintain? Any major NSV(s) worth noting? Any new things you implemented or tried out? I lost 15.8 pounds - I started back with the program around the first of January. I realized after Christmas I was in really bad shape and I couldn’t stand the physical and mental pain of morbid obesity any longer. I’m so glad I started this journey. I’ve never known a life without obesity but I’m determined to finally experience that! I hope you all have an amazing February with plenty of success and lessons learned to help you grow and be better. 💗 submitted by /u/ofhope [link] [comments] from Proven weight loss success since 1963...now with 10% more Oprah http://bit.ly/2sYXRd1

In the age of home DNA tests, is sperm donor anonymity possible?

An Oregon woman's attempt to connect with her daughter's anonymous sperm donor is raising difficult questions about the practice -- and may even lead to a lawsuit. Danielle Teuscher says she used a DNA test from 23andMe and then reached out to one of her daughter's genetic relatives. But Northwest Cryobank, where she received the sperm donation, then sent her a cease and desist letter. Teuscher says her plan for more children genetically-related to her daughter is now in jeopardy. Anna Werner reports. from Health - CBSNews.com https://cbsn.ws/2Tltrgo

Baked chicken breasts

I know skinless boneless chicken breasts are zero points. My question is, if the chicken is baked bone-in with skin, but you remove the skin before eating (and obviously don't eat the bone), is the chicken still zero points? Canned Fish: Your Guide To Choosing The Healthiest Options

Image
It’s no secret that fresh fish is super good for you, brimming with nutritional benefits and, as a consequence, pretty damn expensive. Although choosing something from the canned food aisle won’t look as Insta-worthy on your plate as a fresh salmon fillet, there are some real gems waiting in the canned fish section that shouldn’t be overlooked, in terms of cost, convenience AND health benefits. The benefits: Many people often assume that because it’s canned and cheaper, the health benefits of canned fish are compromised. This largely isn’t the case, however, and canned fish provides a great source of protein, minerals like zinc, vitamin D, B12, iron, iodine, magnesium, potassium, selenium plus a whole lot more, and of course, the hallowed long-chain omega 3 fats . These fatty acids are one of the main benefits of eating fish, with health professionals contending that consumption leads to a decreased risk of chronic disease as well as significant anti-inflammatory benefit s. How Intermittent Fasting Could Be The Answer To A Faster Metabolism

Image
Let’s face it ladies—intermittent fasting has earned itself some very mixed reviews . Some say that it’s the holy grail of all diets ; claiming that the benefits extend beyond weight loss into the realms of improved brain function, anti-ageing and a whole lot more. Others, however, take a less flattering view of the diet and claim it’s especially not suitable for women because of our sensitive and always-fluctuating hormones; contending that it often leads to missed periods and even early onset menopause. So, what to believe? While fasting is definitely not for everyone, if it works for you—the benefits can be endless . Here’s what you can expect from IF. You burn fat, not sugar Photo by Brooke Lark on Unsplash So, you know what we said about your metabolism? Well, intermittent fasting helps you to switch your body from being a sugar-burner to a fat burner. Do you find you’re never satiated after your meals, struggle with brain fog and “hanger”, and can’t seem to lose weight? Yo

First month down and my roommate just joined with me.

I started on the first of the month after my mom and sister finally talked me into it. I’m on the last day of my first month and I’ve officially lost 10 pounds. I am so proud of myself because I have such a hard time sticking to things but I did it and I can’t wait to keep this up to my goal weight. My roommate saw my progress and now she joined! Looking for Advice - Down 1 lb in 3+ months

I have been doing weight watchers since September. The first few months I lost about 10lbs. Since then, I haven't lost anything. The only thing that has changed is my length of workout (I try to do 4-5 days a week for at least 30 minutes) since I can't do competitive swimming right now due to an injury (usually was 2-3 days for an hour). I track everything that goes in my mouth. I have friends that are very successful, but I can't for the life of me figure out what to change/do. I have tried eating my weeklies and not eating my weeklies. No big difference in either approach. I'm open to any suggestions! submitted by /u/osusars [link] [comments] from Proven weight loss success since 1963...now with 10% more Oprah http://bit.ly/2G1NRIr

Newbie Question

Hello fellow WW'ers! I am new to this and getting used to tracking and picking better choices etc. Has anyone started and felt like their points budget was too low? I know on one hand it seems so low b/c I'm just getting started and need to adapt but on the other, when I think of MFP and similar my calorie budget goes down as my weight does. If they start me at the minimum what happens as I lose? I cant find a way to adjust my budget and I know they've got this stuff down to a science but just wondering what anyone who has more experience thinks or has done Do I just trust and go with it? submitted by /u/Moonshine_Pearl [link] [comments] from Proven weight loss success since 1963...now with 10% more Oprah http://bit.ly/2GabYE5
